The Official Mistress
The Official Mistress
ver the official mistress Cuevana 3. Versailles, 1788. To rescue his crumbling reputation, Louis XVI is advised to appoint an “official mistress”. Against her will, he chooses the brilliant young Countess Madeleine, a woman who would rather read Rousseau than share a king’s bed. When René, the love of her life and a simple cook, follows her to Versailles and unexpectedly becomes the King’s royal food taster, every extravagant feast becomes a battle for survival between love, power and appetite.
